October is Halloween month

I started this post to write about one of the immensely popular Halloween activities in Utah - Witches Night Out at Gardner Village - and along the way found another neat Halloween resource.  More on that later. 

My mother used to work at Gardner Village at the candy store and I remember always seeing her wear a witch costume around Halloween.  Since then I have come to know that October at Gardner Village is a huge deal.  It's usually packed with people and excitement as they go to see the witch displays and shop the many stores at the village.  There are also carriage rides, dinner shows, and drawings for prizes.  You just have to go and experience it.  I'm not saying it's loads of fun for both sexes, as men might prefer to stay home and watch the game, but hey you never know.  

The other Halloween resource I came across is a neat site at www.utahholidayguide.com.  Go there and click on Halloween and you'll find a good list of ideas of places to go and things to do during the Halloween season.   And I guess you can always look to the sky since there's always somebody with a spotlight trying to attract people to their place.
