Zig Ziglar on education and learning

It's been a little while since I posted a Zig Ziglar quote, but I've been reading them again lately and I found a great one to post today.  As they usually do, this quote applies to my life as if Zig knew me personally.  

"You can finish school, and even make it easy - but you never finish your education, and it is seldom easy".

Here's what I conclude from this: If life or business is easy, we're probably not learning anything.  If life or business is tough, we're probably progressing in some way or learning some thing.  It's my hope for myself and anyone reading this that we will start to recognize in the midst of our tough times that we are learning and growing, and then things might take on a different feeling.  Why should we wait until something hard is over before we realize that we actually did learn something?  

So maybe a lifelong commitment to learning is also an open invitation for tough times to come along.  I say that in a positive way though.  How does the saying go, "when we're coasting we're going downhill"?
