Did you know that Ventura County Sheriff's Department's Canine Unit is funded by private donations from the loving and caring citizens of Ventura County? These loving creatures have dedicated their lives to saving us in the event of an emergency. So it's time we all supported our brave Canine Unite.
On Saturday, October 13, 2007 the Ventura Sheriff's K9 Foundation is hosting a 9K Walk/Run & Safety Fair. This event is to take place in Camarillo's Continuation Park. If you wish to walk/run you can register at the park (8:00 am) or pre-register here. Registration is $30 and all money raised will benefit the Ventura County Sheriff's Department K9 Unit.
The event and walk/run begins at 9:00 am. The course is set to take the walkers/runners through the beautiful City of Camarillo. At the Park the Sheriff Department has arranged entertainment, safety fair, food, and raffles for the public.

Dan, I am still in a cast. I have a fractured Talus bone and a stressed Achilles Tendon, so I am out of commission for a while. Anyways, my husband is the runner, I am the fast walker.

Mana, this sounds like a great event for your area. I'm not sure about you but the weather here is great! It would be perfect for this type of event. It could also be a good event for you to pass out some bottled water with your info on it!
Mana, it looks like a wonderful event. There is an organziation in Denver that raises money for bloodhounds. Some years ago a little girl was abducted and murdered, and it was a bloodhound her found her body, after tracking her scent for miles (she had been in a car or truck and he still tracked her). The organization was started by her Grandfather. Dogs do so much for us and it is nice to see people appreciate them.
K-9's are such a huge asset to the force - good for you to support them with this publicity

Dan, Yep, that would be me still house bounded. The thing is that is my right foot so I can not drive at all.
Kimberly, So far we are having a HOT fall. The weather forecast for that day is sunny and beautiful. It is going to be a blast.

I love these dogs! they are the cutest!!! and SMART... it amazes me but I believe these dogs are smarter than some of the general population, UGH did I say that out load??
