Susie, Great post. I have some friends who really recommend Home Depot's Kid Workshop classes. I personally would like to take the "Family Fire Safety Class".

Susie--What a great reminder for those in Brandon FL that there are wonderful opportunities for learning at Home Depot. My kids loved the classes where they could make something to take home when they were younger!

Hi Susie,

This is good information! The tiling class sounds like good information, I will have to check our home depot to see what classes are being offered. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Hey...wish I knew this before they demolished my bathroom this morning. Just kidding. I could not do this by myself although I think I'll be able to do the floors (okay, husband can do those). Uh, I picked the fixtures! Thanks Susie...I'll be able to give client's this info! (of course in my neighborhood though)

I have taken one of there classes before. It was fairly informative, plus they give you a 10% certificate towards your next project good for something like 30 days, but hey 10% is better then a kick in the pants.

I love Home Depot! Never attended a class, but heard good things...

I love these classes - they rock - I put in a new faucet from one :o)

Barb the Builder!  She can do just as much as Bob the Builder, with a little practice...

Susie - I used to live right down the street from this Home Depot, In Brentwood Hills, but I don't remember all of these snazzly classes then.. especially "do it HERSELF" .. look out red head with a drill gun.... even supervised it's a danger zone!

This is a great, very informative post!

I have seen the announcements and think it is a great idea. There is a Home Depot close by.

The clinics are helpful and offers much advice to the homeowner. I know of many who have taken advantage of the classes.

they used to have this tv show where a person won a drawing and got shopping carts - you had a certain amount of time and anything you could get into the cart and out the front door (where you could have friends waiting to load it for you) was yours! I have always dreamed of an hour like that in Home Depot - that would be the store of my dream for a free session - guess it should be Macy's, but it isn't- I always was a tomboy -

Susie, thanks for the reminder. I did not know of the website. Thanks for placing the link on your post.

We took a flooring class once on laying tile. It made the process easier for us. Dont you just love Home Depot.

Susie love the post. Consumers in your area will be very fortunate if they come across this article. Best of luck and keep doing what you do.

Susie, thanks for the info and the link.  I will be passing on this info to the clients in my market and I will be looking into classes for myself.

Home Depot has great workshops.  But then so does Lowes.  Unfortunately many people do not take advantage of these freebies, and sometimes they get cancelled if the speaker or demonstrator is from another store, or out of town.

I'm also a firm believer in their two-year no payment deal.  I did a kitchen that way and paid it off the day they were to start adding interest (which was $200 plus from the last two year), and did it the right way.  Got it for two years, free, and then paid the original price.  It can work if you pay attention.

Susie - what a great post on Home Depot in the Brandon or Valrico area.

If there is a comparable class at Lowe's I'd look into it. Lowe's is affiliated with NAR. Lowe's is much more Realtor friendly and Builder friendly than Home Depot. We can actually get coupons and discounts online for Lowe's as Realtors. Mortgage professionals, I'm not sure about you but it never hurts to ask.
