Cornhusker Football and Lincoln Real Estate Market

Omaha, Nebraska Contributed by David Matney with Alliance Real Estate

Anyone from Nebraska understands how the Cornhusker Football in a part of our culture. In fact, I had a seller that justified a overpricing his home based on the turnout of the Husker Spring Game. Those days are gone now and in the last few years our Athletic Director, Steve Pederson has done more to destroy the program than a NCAA probation. The program is now in shambles and I believe it will have an effect on the real estate market in Lincoln.

In the next few months, I believe that the homes of the AD, Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator will soon be on the market. I imagine there are many Realtors in Nebraska that would be willing to list their homes for free. Hopefully, we will can replace the AD and hire coaches that appreciate the culture and tradition of our program.

Thanks,

WOW David, I graduated from a school with a pretty big football tradition, Michigan.  We have had our moments with Ohio State....may have another one too! (I didn't say that) Traditions are hard for people to understand unless you live the culture.  College football is something special....and the people that back the respective teams have a place in their hearts that has more pride for their team than anyone we is not a fan could ever understand.  I always pull for Big Ten teams when they are not playing Michigan!  So I understand your post.  The "Huskers" have had a long tradition of winning and being competitive.  I have been a battered fan myself.   Go Huskies! (just not against Michigan!)

WOO HOO!  Are we happy campers today or what?

Gary, thanks for the comment.

Renee, exactly!

Homes on the market, and football...hhmmmm good combination David, you are always thinking ahead..I love it! Alliance better get those homes..I'm ready for em;)

The upside of a poor football season is that there will be less traffice congestion on game days due to all of the fans staying home.
