In another few hours, game 4 of the National League Championship Series gets underway. The current thinking is that unless the D'Backs find their bats (did they leave them at Wrigley Field?), they are toast. Goes well with a Denver omelet, I guess.
What we know for sure is that the local team has done well all year, and if they come up a bit short against the hottest team in baseball history (20 wins in 21 games to close out the season? Insane!), well, that's okay. They are one of the youngest teams in baseball, and should only get better. They are playing WAY above where they should be. For the fans to get a little "down" because they only get this far is a fleeting emotion. Be happy for them, as they will stay together for the next season, AND have some winning experience under their belts.
Bonus - if they win tonite, they have Brandon Webb in game 5. That gives us hope, that maybe, just maybe, there is one more game in Phoenix. Can they win 4 straight? Only been done once, and that was recently - Boston in 2004. I grew up a Cubs fan, so hope springs eternal!

Patrick,
Win or lose, your Dbacks have been great. They and my Phillies had their 'world series' when they won their division titles! It ain't over til it's over however! Oops someone already said that :^) Thanks, Fran
Fran - One of the highlights of this season was watching the HATED Mets implode and die. Many old time Cub fans just love it when trouble lands at the Mets doorstep...What your guys did was superb! On behalf of all Cub fans (even recovering ones like me) a huge THANK YOU to the Phillies for that one!
Patrick: Ditto!!! Thanks, Fran
