Actively Raining in Northwest Florida, finally

Rainy Day in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Rain in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

What a glorious day! Rain is fall over Choctawhatchee Bay on 18th day of October, 2007! Whoopee!! It has been a long, dry spell, and it is so nice to see and feel rain in the air. This has been a very dry year in northwest Florida. From Pensacola in the west, to Tallahassee in the east, there has been a serious shortage of rainfall. North of us in Georgia and Alabama, it has been much the same. So we're really happy to see the rain.

Robert, you are not the only one that wants rain. We need it very much.

Robert - I am jealous....please some some just alittle south to Gainesville!  Our weatherman keeps teasing that we will get some rain...yet, all this week.....none yet.   BTW....very nice photos!

Robert - we had a very soggy September in Jax, with about 20"  of rain in 3 weeks, it was nice and we defintely needed it!

Carole, we're still having rain, and puddles everywhere!  But it was so overdue.

Ah, Christine, just for you, I'll send plenty of rain! From what I saw last on the weather channel, you're in line for rain.

WWWEEEEEEEHHHAAAAAA..... We had some weather here in Panama City!! Tornados came off the gulf about 1:30 and we were under a tornado warning for about 50 minutes! It is raining so hard I can't even go check the mail. Left the office early to come home and blog a little bit and the wind was going crazy!!!

Danny, we've been doing a rain dance here for several days.  The steps are: 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2,1,2... you got it!

Scott, you and Jennifer be careful now, ya hear!  It's nice to have a little rain, but there's no need to get caught up in a twister!

Don't ask me why, but pictures of stormy skys tend to warm my heart. leave it to a fondness for stormy weather I inherited from my father. Ah the hours I sat with him in silence on our front porch as a child just watching the rain.

Robert, We too had only four days of rain in all of September.  But rain is heading our way as well, though we are expected to keep much warmer than average temperatures.  Glad to hear you got some badly needed rain.

Shellee, that is sweet.  I am happy for the memories you have.  I enjoyed the rain with my grandmother on her front porch.  My parents were always working...  I love the rain, too.  I like to walk in the rain (and sing).

Carol, hope you get all the rain you need!

Thank you, Debbie, yes we are grateful, and the rain is still coming (along with the lightning).  Thanks for your visit.

Robert:  Perhaps you've heard the critical condition North Georgia is in regarding a very long drought.  Our Governor is now trying to step in because they say our water supply is only good for a few more weeks!  Imagine that.  But, I will say that we did get some rain yesterday and last night but a little skimpy.  We'll take what we can get.  Lake Lanier which is more like an ocean in my opinion is unbelieveably down and I have never seen it like this.  Blow some of those storm clouds our way, will ya'?!

Donna, I saw what was said on the TV about Lake Lanier and the drought, and especially where the water is going.  Hopefully, all the attention will get the mess straightened out.

Robert, your area looks gorgeous even when dreary.  We had so much rain and then it turned dry.  I have to admit dreary skies don't do much for me so I was getting really tired of all that rain but looking at the grass we could use a little rain now.

Robert- Its great to know I'm not the only crazy one around that doesn't know not to play in the rain! lol

Shellee, you comment reassures me also!  I love the rain.  I also like the wind and lightning, but have a healthy respect for all the elements.
