A friend of mine died this week. He was a great man, a great husband, a great father, a great friend, and a great leader in Davenport, Iowa. His activity in politics over the years led him to the position of Mayor a few years ago. I didn't always agree with him, but always respected his position and viewpoints.
Charlie Brooke had been battling cancer for several years. He never gave up. In spite of his pain and suffering, he continued to serve in many capacities in our community.
