Fannin County Voters Have Their Say - North Georgia Blue Ridge MountainsMany of you have been reading my posts about the November 6th election facing Fannin County residents. The resolution to allow liquor by the drink which became a "spirited" (so to speak) issue. This is a follow-up to report the outcome of the election as reported yesterday evening. As reported by The News Observer, the referendum was defeated 3871 to 3330 votes with 14 out of 14 precincts reporting. Fannin County Faces a Tough Challenge
People on both sides of the argument for or against the resolution to allow liquor by the drink have serious concerns. The most important one being, What does this mean to the future of Fannin County? Well, I believe as a Realtor and a resident of this county for many years now, that Fannin will most definitely grow as it has and continue to be the second home, retiree, vacation area of choice because the natural beauty and tranquil lifestyle offered here simply outweighs the importance of a beverage. We are on the edge of an onslaught of retiring baby-boomers and many of them are heading for the mountains, why, for the same reason we are here, Lifestyle! Liquor or lack thereof, has not stopped the growth of our county, nor will it in the future. But what about revenue? A very serious concern for sure. The passing of this resolution no doubt, would have provided tremendous revenue to our county. But I for one, believe the future of Fannin County is very optimistic and offers great opportunity for those seeking a relaxed lifestyle with the beauty of nature right outside the door. It's all about Lifestyle in the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. Utimately, those of us who choose (another great American freedom) to live here (and get to simply because of choice) are the stewards of these old mountains. The residents take this responsibility very seriously as demonstrated throughout the course of this election. Different views on what is best, yes,of course, and there always will be, but Fannin County residents exercised their final decision freely and democratically and for the most part, in the best interest overall. Now, I'm ready to get back to my passion of being a Realtor honored to work in the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains and help you find your mountain retreat! It's all about Lifestyle!
