New Affordable Housing in Central Point

The City of Central Point has a history of showing support for affordable housing. They supported Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley when they built 6 homes, the last two being dedicated in December 2005. Also in 2005, the City of Central Point supported the construction of 62 affordable one-bedroom senior apartments, the Central Point Retirement Community , a part of Pacific Retirement Services.

Keep an eye on Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley. At their October 2007 Board Meeting, they voted to purchase two lots in Central Point near Scenic Middle School and Crater High School. With some substantial fundraising success, hopefully they'll have two affordable homes to build with two Partner Families earning between 30-60% of HUD's Median Income for Jackson County.

If you would like to get on the notification list for the next Orientation Day for these homes, and others they may build, call the office at (541)779-1983, or go to http://roguevalleyhabitat.org/index.php?page=applying-for-a-habitat-home and see if you meet their guidelines, then e-mail them to be notified of the next Orientation Day.

Opportunity abounds!
