Good Bye my Friend... Thank You for the Memories

Growing up in Miami was a great place to live and going to watch the Dolphins in the Orange Bowl was a tradition for me. Now years later Joe Robbie moved the Dolphins to Dolphin Stadium (through Private Funds) and yesterday (November 10, 2007) we say goodbye to the once dominant Miami Hurricanes as they played their last game in that stadium.

For anyone who was lucky enough to go to the Orange Bowl and watch a game this stadium was in my opinion one of the best fan friendly stadiums. When you where watching a game in the stadium you had a way of becoming part of the game. In today's world of multi-billion dollar stadiums they lack that feeling of being part of the game as the Orange Bowl did.

I have been very fortunate in my life to travel to many countries and always amazes me that 75 years is nothing for a building or a stadium in those countries but I guess Miami must move forward and forget about their tradition. The Orange Bowl represents to me the history of Miami.

In recent years the City of Miami has really let the stadium go to where I believe the Hurricanes had to no choice but to move. How sad is this.  Do they not have a sense of pride or history?  For people who are from Miami originally will know the answer to that question.

So in closing how fitting was the Hurricanes last game in the Orange Bowl to lose 48-0.  So congratulations to the city of Miami for getting what you wanted I can only assume Vizcaya can be next after all I know that would be a great place for condo's.

Orange Bowl, Thank you for all the memories.
