Cottonwood Mall Redevelopment

Quick Summary:

General Growth Properties plans to redevelop Utah's first indoor mall.  The plan calls for a mixed use project consisting of residential, retail, and commercial.

Update 1/9/2008:  It looks like they have started the demolition and landscaping for this project.  They have fences up around the entire mall and the parking lot is filled with various sizes of boulders and rocks.  I added a new article from the New Urban News that shows a site plan and gives more detail on the project.  It sounds like it is going to be huge with an estimated 534 residential units, 700,000 sq. ft. of retail, and 100,000 sq. ft. of office.  The only potential problem I can see with a development this big is the traffic.  On the site plan I don't see any plans for roundabouts or lights.  If you've driven through Jordan Landing you know how big of an issue this can be.
