First Time Home Buyers- You've Hired A Buyers Agent- What's Next?

In my series for First Time Home Buyers, I have been covering the steps that a First Time Home Buyer should follow in order

to make sure that the purchase of your first home runs smoothly.

Now What?

If you are reading this for the first time and want to re-visit my previous blogs on

this subject, here is what we've covered so far...

So, to pick up where we left off, you should be in the process of

interviewing and hiring a Buyers agent to begin the process of looking at homes.

Because you have gone through the process of getting pre-qualified, or pre-approved, you know what price

range to provide your Buyers agent with, but have you given any thought to what you really want in a home?

If you haven't done so already, consider making a wish list. A wish list will make the job of finding your first home much easier for your

Buyers agent, because it will help your Buyers agent narrow the criteria for homes that might suit your needs.

Make A Wish List- What I want in my first homeThe Department of Housing and Urban Development has a wish list on their website that you can download here. Start compiling a wish list of things that you really would like to have in your first home.

Once your Buyers agent has a wish list from you, and the amount you are qualified for, they'll start the search for your new home! Now the process begins to really speed up, and the fun begins. Your Buyers agent will begin to schedule viewings of homes that they've found to match your wish list as closely as possible.

While you are out viewing homes, here is a handy home shopping checklist for you to bring along. Once you've found a home, it will be time to make an offer. We'll cover that topic in another blog. In the meantime, happy house hunting!

Alecia ~  This series you have been working on is looking great!  What an asset to a home buyer/seller!  Thanks for your time and effort on this project!  :)

I like the ideas of writing a series.  It looks like you have a good one going here.

Thanks for reading and commenting on Why I Unsubscribed From Your Blog

This is some great info and reading for the buyer Alecia! I bookmarked to read the rest of the links...be back shortly!

Dan- Thanks so much for coming back and commenting on my blog- I appreciate it!

Sally-  Thanks so much for reviewing it, it means a lot that you would comment!

Just so you know....I'll be back again :)

This is a great series and looks like it will be very helpful to your clients.  It's also something that you can refer potential clients to.  Nicely done. :)

Alecia - Have you considered doing a seminar with a local mortgage broker? This is the exact kind of stuff that buyers are looking for at these seminars and you can get them pre-approved on the spot and start the home search that night!

Todd

Alecia and Todd ~  This seems like a great plan to me!  In this market (or any for that matter) the best bet is to chase down any idea!  If you decided to do this I hope to hear all about it!  :)

Sally- looking forward to it!

Todd- Sorry about that! I forgot that I had comments to reply to! And the answer is yes- I think that is a GREAT idea. You are always so good to send pointers my way.

Sarah- you will definately hear about it! I'll make sure to let you know when and where.....

Always glad to offer knowledge as long as you promise not to move up here and use it against me - lol
