This post is a follow up to my previous post about Full-Time Professional Realtors. The Realtor in which I speak is a member of Active Rain and a Full-Time Professional Realtor in Jupiter, Florida. Her name is Leslie Bushby and today I had the pleasure of a follow-up phone call. As we are both moving forward to help our clients achieve the American Dream of Home Ownership it is nice to know that my counter part is working with me and not against me.
I have seen so many Realtors that want to get involved with the Mortgage side of the transaction and have know idea what they are doing. I fully understand they want to make sure the file is moving forward and can appreciate that, but they are trying to give advice under the eyes of fiduciary responsibility and they don't have a clue on what is happening in the mortgage industry. So many times they just want to look at the Good Faith Estimate and assume that tells the whole story.
It is truly nice to see when dealing with a Professional Realtor that wants to get involved with transaction and not just worried about my commission and how much I am getting paid for the file. Leslie Bushby is genuinely concerned about the whole file and I am sure at the same time wanting to make sure our clients are not being taken advantage of.
When speaking with her today I asked her if she was on Active Rain (why keep it a secret) and to let her know how great the site is. She had informed me that she is but does not comment that much but really enjoys reading peoples blogs.
This brought me to realize that many posts I have seen on Active Rain say that many members just join and do nothing else. In this case, here is a true Professional who while not commenting does read peoples post and learns from them. So I ask you this. What is more important getting points by placing bad posts and bad comments (just for the points) or actually having a Professional read what other Professionals write in the industry and learn from them?

Matt,
It pays to work with someone who will keep the lines of communication open
Leslie sounds like a real treat to work with Matt and communication is so very vital.....that horse can't beaten enough.
Matt,
That is such a nice thing to hear right now. I am very happy that you are working on a smoothe transaction :0) Leslie seems Great.
Neal, You are so right! Thanks
Jason, Correct communication is the key
Tom, A True Professional..
Hi Matthew, Nice Post! It is a real treat working with a professional.
Good point. I assumed most people signed up for the free linkback and left.
I wonder how many readers we have that we don't know about....
Barbara, Thank you. It really is I agree with you
Tom, True. How many are really reading the posts and not saying anything.
Good points Matt! Communication is key, and we should not try to do each other's job.
As far as reading, and not commenting more, I know I am guilty of that. I have learned so much from AR in the short time I have been here. I try to leave several thought out comments every day(not for the points), especially to some of the newbies, but seems there's not enough time in the day...
Cheryl, I have been guilty of that as well. Thanks for your comment
Matthew- That is a great recommendation. I know there are many more people reading my blog than are commenting. We know our local fellow agents are also reading our blog and they do not blog and are not on AR. But they still read AR. Katerina
Katerina, Thank you. I agree with you. I just would like to know how many cosumers are reading them
another excellent post! You would not want a part-time doctor, would you?!?!
Bill & Barbara, Thank you ..I agree you would never think of that
Well, I always shudder when the buyer chooses a lender who does not want to talk with me. They don't realize that the Realtor understanding what they are trying to communicate to the buyers can be a big plus and make their jobs easier. IF there is a question about the real estate piece, my mortgage broker refers that to me and/or says "let's ask Terrylynn, she always has a good answer about that. And vice versa, I can compliment her efforts as well as I know what they have been told by the lender so can ease their mind and/or know when to refer them back to her if they get worried about something to do with the loan. This keeps the transaction moving toward conclusion and we are two sets of eyes and ears who are aware of their mood and concerns. Sure is great to have a good lender on the Team. Good post. Terry, Thank you. I agree when we work together towards the transaction closing it makes everyone happy. THank you
