As a regular attender of our local Green Drinks I have had the opportunity to meet and mingle with many green minded individuals and business owners. One I specifically have a lot of interest in is Pragmatic Design Lab. The are makers of custom furniture and I hope to be using them for some specific pieces soon.

Pragmatic Design is a joint venture by Travis Dinsmore and Davina Pallone. They create amazing sustainable, modern furniture. All of the work is custom and to your specifications. From the website: "pragmatic's philosophy is one of process. we address each client's parameters, usability needs and style. the resulting design is executed with a focus on simplicity, sustainability, and quality."
If you are in the market for sustainable, custom furniture then I strongly suggest that you check them out. Their work is Amazing.

For some reason the website is down, but it looks worth checking out. Thanks for the information. I'll try looking a bit later. MAybe it was for routine maintenance.
Thanks for the post. I will look it over when completing my blog reviews.
Keith - It was a typo in the address. I have corrected the link. It is www.pragmaticdesignlab.com.
Andrew: I've been meaning to get to my own local Green Drinks meeting but something always comes up. Here's to your blog... I think I have the added motivation to get to the December meeting! :)
P.S. - Who are you voting for in 2008? Just wondering. ;)
Andrew - they have some pretty cool stuff! I like it and it looks like great craftsmanship. How many attend your green drinks? Tell me more! I'm just starting our group and would love tips!
Richard -I am glad to motivate. That is what I hope to accomplish. You make my day when I hear things like that. As for who I am voting for, I cannot say yet. I am disappointed in all of the candidates at this point and since I really don't identify fully with any party I am pretty open to anyone. I can say that Mitt Romney is a no way and Hillary is as well. Obama has his points and I like Nadar. Giulliani I really have not researched well. Personally, I would love to see Gore run again, but would I vote for him? I just don't know...... I know that people hate people like me, so indecisive. I am just waiting for someone to tell my what I want to hear and then stand by it. You either believe in it or you don't. They ALL flip flop too much.
Mary -Our Green Drinks is a wonderful group that gets bigger every-time I go. People bring people and then the next time those people bring people. We have a place where we can set our cards and our information and then we just talk. The group is made up of business professionals who are green and just regular everyday folks who are green and want to meet the professionals. There are also some not so green visitors who come to see what it is all about. We mingle, we drink, we eat and we talk green if we want or we don't. I will say that I have made more professional contacts there than I ever did at a chamber mixer and I have even become a member of a committee (the US Green Building Councils Utah Chapter's Residential Green Building Advocacy Committee) because of it. All of this and I have only been attending for 3 months.
I urge you to go for it and get it started. Start with 10 people you know and have them each invite someone they know and it will just grow from there.
