Roy Williams of The Birmingham News wrote an article this week, Birmingham-Hoover has lowest jobless rate of nation's big cities, bureau says.
According to the article, for metropolitan areas of about one million, the Birmingham-Hoover area had the lowest unemployment rate in the nation for October 2007. That is great news.
In September, the Birmingham-Hoover area ranked 6th at 3.3%. In October, it dropped to 2.7%. It has only been lower than this once, and this was in April where it had dropped to an amazing 2.4%
The state as a whole did pretty well too. Alabama was 6th nationally at 3.1%.
Roy Williams noted that, "Hiring managers and employers say the Birmingham has benefited from a diverse economy and Alabama's improving outlook."
Obviously a lot of people are finding that the Birmingham-Hoover areas are a great place to live!____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I am just wondering how the market in your area is doing. It appears that with stable employment the home sales will be good?
That's great news Stephen. The good news about the Hoover Area just continues to mount. This is fantastic report for your city. (Well any city for that matter!!)
That is great news Stephen. More people will be ready to buy homes after the holidays.
Gary, the market here is actually good. I wrote a post on it...
