God's Handiwork At Its Best

Every time I read Charles McDonald's blog on Active Rain I get a little envious. I've never lived in a place where the seasons changed. California, Arizona, and Nevada have one season and its year round. Seeing pictures of the seasons colors in other parts of the country is so awesome,

las vegas fall colorsToday while out I decided to look for seasonal changes in the areas I was driving...low and behold I did not need to drive far to see fall colors...they were right in my own backyard practically, here in Braewood Heritage. What an awesome sight it was at that! It was truly God's handiwork at its best!

Not a far drive from Las Vegas is beautiful Mt. Charleston...the snow capped mountains can be seen from many areas of the valley. Snow Capped Mountains in Las Vegas And we don't have to suffer through the cold weather, wet streets, and snow plowing to enjoy it as seen in the picture to the right.

This told me one thing...all we have to do is look...look for the positive side of things as opposed to the negative side. There's a reason for everything...there's a good side and a bad. The cup is either half full or half empty. Which is yours? Mine has for the most part been half empty, but one of my goals for the new year is to look at things more positively. My cup will now be half full....maybe more than half...how about three-quarters full!

We get a change of seasons in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Granted, sometimes the changes may be a bit extreme..

Mary,  I have only lived in Las Vegas for 5 years.  I came from PA  and I don't miss the change of the seasons at all.  I see all the changes here that you described and I love looking at the snow on the mountains.  Best part about that is I don't have to shovel or travel in it.  Our country has beautiful landscape no matter where you live!

Hi Mary:  I don't think I have ever met anyone who thought that Charles McDonald was an example of God's handiwork.  I mean, perhaps he is a little on the cute side, but "God's handiwork ?"  Yikes.  <grin>

I hope my friend Charles is enjoying this post!  Yeah, we all think he's cute, Karen Anne!

I think Mary was referring to the natural beauty that comes through in Charles' photography..

Ahhh... now I get it.  Natural beauty... that's it... that's the ticket... now I understand.  It all comes clear to me now.  Thanks Mary.  Take care...

LOL, Karen you are just picking on my beard now!

Mary, what a nice compliment (about my pictures). You are sure right though, just look around and you do see beautiful things that God has his hand in creating. I was born and raised (spent 40 years) in California and although we did not have the seasons (like we have in Charlottesville) we sure did have a lot of beauty!

All the best my friend and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi,Mary:

You just commented on one of my posts, so I came over to read yours.  We were certainly thinking alike about God's handiwork in our lives.  Now that I've read Karen Anne's comment, I will have to check out Charles McDonald's blog (and photo)!

OK Mary... when you say you have no change of seasons are you saying that the weather stays the same all year round?  That sounds pretty cool to me... but then again they say the grass always looks greener on the other side.
