Median listing was $12, 000 for .54 acre waterview parcel. Days on Market ranged from 1,223 to 212. Of the lots transferred, 3 parcels or 50% were waterfront parcels or contained a year round water view. The remaining lots sales involved Buyers purchasing at least 2 or more adjoining lot parcels. 33% of all land sales in Hide-A-Way Hills involved myself, Belinda F. Augustus, Real Living HER.

Lots are very good investments because at an age when you do not have the resources to pay for a house and you need to save up, the cost of land compared to a house makes it more feasible to purchase before you make the big purchase to build a house on it.

Yes, normally sitting on lots while waiting to build could be very advantageous. But because of the assessment rates on the lots in Hide-A-Way Hillls, buyers would want to plan on using the community amenities or possibly have a plan in mind to build soon after purchase. Assessment rates run $140 a month plus $150 road fee per year. I would venture Buyers would want somewhat of a plan in mind to justify the fees.
