Gallatin is a small town in southern Columbia County with a population of less than 2000 people. This town just like Ancram is another place you will find many second homes tucked away down very long driveways.
This is also an agricultural area so you will come across large farms; it is also very common to see cows grazing and horses galloping .

Jennifer - Another great local post and another beautiful photo!
This photo says - home in so many ways - nice job - I love the small towns around America - thanks for sharing.
Jennifer, what GREAT graphs. From that picture it looks like a really peaceful setting. It sounds like a nice little community.
Jennifer, Gallatin seems like quite a wonderful place. If the picture is any indication, the sights are quite wonderful as well! The stats looked OK! I really like the charts and graphs, I need to learn how to do those myself!
Jennifer, very informative post, great photo. Nice place to live.
Jennifer, It sounds like a lovely little town, perfect for those who want to slow down a bit...and sounds like a wonderful place to live.
Jennifer,
I love how you know so much about your area, and the posts with the graphs are GREAT!!!
Great Information and another beautiful place in NY
Jennifer we have a few of those small towns here in Connecticut also. In fact the town I live in, Middletown, is a good size town of about 50,000 people and in the part of town I live in it is not unusual to see people riding horses on our back roads.
Joseph - Thank you.
Thesa - I too love small towns.
Marchel - I consider the area peaceful and a nice place to live.
Steven - I love going by the farms . The graphs are easy you just need to decided on the data you want to present. Some MLS systems have built in feature for graphing, other times you will want to use excel.
Robert - Thank you, it is a nice place to live.
Ray - I try to learn what I can about my marketplace, I still have a long way to go.
Don - Thank you.
George - I love the country feel and horse riding does add to the charm.
Jennifer, great graphs on the area. It did show that if the homes did not sell in the first 30 days things slowed down in the time for selling. I am always amazed at the $ per sqft is so much higher in the east coast areas than in our area. I think it has to do with more established communities vs. unlimited land to build on and a tremendous number of new home builders we have. For $360,000 in our area you can get TWICE as much house plus a pool. Amazing.
Gallatin looks like such a peaceful community and you have the beautiful four season climate.
Jennifer, What is that WHITE STUFF all over the ground. I don't see much of that here in Florida.
Jennifer, Maybe it is sand??? LOL.
