I know I sound like a broken record, but the reduction in the sales volume is the real story in real estate news. That news that the media haven't a clue, BTW.
I love it when some agent starts bragging that prices are holding in their area. All I can think is "FOOL, don't you know that is the problem with real estate sales in your area????"
Oh well. Sooner or later. . . . . . .
Homefinders, Real Estate in MD & VA, Lenn Harley, Broker, New & Resale Homes Exactly! Too many agents brag about the median prices is still rising (Not taking into account seller paying 10K in closing costs)..and they overlook that unit and sales volume is off 50%! You're right! They do not know or understand their own markets!
Jim - We're fortunate that we still have a very good market in the central portion of Houston. I think we are one of the few cities in the country that does. I really hope that markets all around the United States improve as the year goes. Have a wonderful week!
