Insurers are paying homeowners to go green.

I picked up this article from the associated press and this is very exciting news.  Many feel the costs of going green are far too high or that the return is negligible so they argue against it.  I personally believe that this article is just one more link to show that it is worthwhile and more and more are finally seeing the value.

Fireman's Fund and Lexington Insurance, two major insurers, are offering green products to their clients.  In in the article it states that Fireman's Fund is offering their clients hurt by the California wildfires the opportunity to buy the green product at no extra charge.  Lexington is going to offer an Upgrade to Green product at  2% - 3% extra charge.  In the future it is expected that their will n\be no extra charge or even a discount as green homes will be seen as less of a risk.

Please jump over to the associated press article for the full story.  This is a wonderful development and very exciting development!
