Renovation Tip: Old Bricks
Home renovation can be an expensive process, and creates many different challenges. With any home renovation a good idea is to look for ways to offset costs. Today I ran across an idea that can help a lot of people offset some costs, and is a good tool to help the environment.
The service that I found is from seller's of antique bricks. They sell these bricks for use as pavers and brick matching. The sources for these bricks are old brick houses that may be in the process of being torn down or are just being renovated. I'm not entirely sure how much they will give you for your old bricks (I'm sure it's not much), but it's better than sending them to the dump.
Another, good idea may be looking how you can utilize these bricks. Do you have enough to make a patio, driveway, or even decorative landscaping? Pavers can be expensive when your looking at a large area, so there may be money that can be saved.
Here are some companies on the internet that provide these services:
Gavin Historical Bricks
Old World Bricks
Antique Brick Warehouse
There are so many ways to utilize used brick. Before you throw it away make sure you can't recoup some of the costs on your renovation project.
I am in no way affiliated with any of the brick companies above, and have provided the links for informational purposes only.
