100th POST - tribute to tallent

So this is my 100th post and I have been tossing and turning trying to come up with something special to share with you. The standards have been set extremely high.

Today I had one of those AMAZING days where a customer made me feel so good and made me glad to be in this business. We have had a listing that has been particularly difficult to sell, not because the house is ugly, or because the house needs work, or because the house is vacant, but because customers have not been able to recognize the potential.

Finally under contract, today we had inspections and to my surprise, the buyer's agent did not show up - ( It was the inspectors, the buyer and I). An hour into the inspections, the buyer turned to me and said, "Ines, I want you to know that the reason we are buying this house is because of you, you were instrumental in us seeing the potential of this home, and it was you that ultimately made the sale, thank you."

Could this get any better??? Needless to say, my head could not fit through the door when we left. I feel so good about what I do, and it was so rewarding to hear this from the actual buyer. So I decided to share with you some of my work. I have a passion for architecture and do miss my profession, but can admit that I could not deal with the schedule of an architect. Real Estate has given me a way to be creative and share my passion with customers, and the mere fact of being recognized, really makes me feel great.

---------------------------------------

Here's some bridge concepts I did for DOT here in Miami - the idea was that bridges do not need to be ugly and that aesthetics and design can co-exist.

This is an on-going abstract study that I am doing - the theme: portraits of RICK

Portrait of Rick portrait of Rick 2 portrait of Rick3

And lastly - I'm going to share a poem I wrote years ago about Miami and Architecture.

MIAMI DETACHED

Miami is the shadows formed on a young girl's face one Summer afternoon

It's the wrinkles on the hands of an old black man

It's looking through a magnigying glass at darkness

At its shore I can discern a "Miami Detached"

As the crew ships try to Merge themselves

once again with reality

Reality means turning into a sail

highstrung to its mast,

feeling the strength and the near ending effort to survive,

or a coral rock trying not to disintegrate while it knows

the more salt water that flows,

the more porous it will become

Why does the blind look at the sun?

How can you touch hate?

Taste Love?

Smell apathy?

The petals of a rose out of bloom

Still give you a fascinating scent,

just as that which cannot feel will eventually rot.

Life means morphosis, close scrutiny and pain

We can discuss this when architects

become a thing of the past

I thank all my friends here in Active Rain for encouranging me and others. I am glad to be part of this network and look forward to reading all of your 100th posts.

Ines...

Congratulations on your 100th post! Yipee. The 100th feels pretty good doesn't it?

I agree with Monika. You did a great job of tying it all in. The poem tells me that you were a Blogger waiting to happen :)

I know how you feel about having a customer say that to you. That feels really good too. You've had a great today. I am happy for you.

As you Ladies say "Blog On"...   (mango) damn.

2nd...  it's great to feel great, especially when you can't get your head through the door. I loved that and I will admit, once in a blue moon, I have problems with doors...  ;o)

3rd...thanks for sharing about your insight into architecture. I remember talking about this...that's if you remember my side of what I did....  ;o)

Overall...CONGRATS again and great job.

Ines, Congrats on #100! That's a lot of writing. You are a very talented lady. Thanks so much for sharing your art work and your poetry. Can't wait for your 200th post:)

Monika - I had mentioned to Jeff B. that I would just pass under the radar with this one, but he challenged me and HAD to do it.  I'm glad I was able to tie it in.

Carole - thanks so much - that means a lot to me....now you know why I like those Cleveland bridges so much.

TLW - it feels good and can't believe it either - 100 seems like a lot!  Can you believe I wrote that in 1992?  That was a LONG time ago (blogger waiting to happen.....YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT) - btw...MANGO IS GOOD....VERY GOOD.

Jeff - thanks for making me do it - and great that I had an inspiring day!

Leigh - thank you, thank you - I will try to meet your expectations.

Bryant - you know you inspire people - you and TLW are both so great - I've been talking here in Miami about my Poinciana, Florida mentors - I THANK YOU BOTH.

Ines...... I didn't make, just a strong suggestion. I have that ability while people look into my eyes....   ;o)  For my next suggestion....now look into my eyes. 2 clients by March....  ;o)

George - I love wine - I will certainly try -and according to all those blogging books, we should all get better by just doing it....not difficult at all.  Thanks.

Jeff - you should have put your picture here - the hypsosis would have worked better.

AAAaaaa!!  I almost missed it myself but read Jeff Belonger's 100th and realized I was at 99.  You are booking woman!!  You just joined yesterday and have a trillion posts!  That's awesome!  Are all Bonita Springs agents as ADD as you?

Ines, it's so weird. I could swear I had commented on this post before, but there's nothing here from me!

Just did my 50th last week. Congrats.

Hi John - thanks for stopping by - I added your link to your comment - it was a great post.

Ines - Congratulations!  For all the Rainers and or other bloggers - this is truly a feat in itself.  Way to go and may there be many many more!!!

Thank you Christine - you are not too far yourself!

Good Morning Ines..   (yes its morning for me right now).. I will be on the Pc for 15 minutes and I'm gon for the day, but I felt compelled to comment on your 100th post.

I wanted to congratulate you on #100 post.. and for your consistency in posting real estate or architecture related information.   ok, i get it, start posting more about real estate.

I wanted to congratulate you on the praise you received from the buyers and for the job well done for that to happen. You know,... I think that maybe it didn't all inflate your head, but with your passion for architecture, it may have inflated your heart moreso. Sure your 'head' got some of it, but I imagine that your heart got most of it. :))  Felt good didn't it? It's called living life.

I wanted to congratulate you on (and thank you for sharing) your concepts for the bridges. It's people like you that make a city more beautiful. I like the pictures and maybe I will share some of my earlier 'work'.

Lady Ines' 100th!!I wanted to thank you on sharing your soul with us by posting your poem. I used to write a little poetry (and I mean a little) before and can really dig your style. One part of your poem  caught me 'off guard' or I missed the concept, but that's poetry, open for interpretation. I wish I could find the poem I wrtoe about flying squirrels.. but then again, I can barely remember when I wrote it due to high levels of alcohol.. that was many, many years ago. anyways, they were mostly surf inspired.

You slammed out a great 100th post!!!

Nick - you are too cool for your own good!  You come into Active Rain with your mysterious personality and take over with your infectious good humor.  I enjoy reading your comments sometimes more than the actual post.  Thanks for all the congratulations, you know I really appreciate them.  Go find that squirrel poem, I'm dying to read it.

(01/23/07 05:03AM) — Craig Schiller

Ines... Congrats on #100.

It does NOT surprise me that YOU helped the buyer see what was possibible.

Love the bridges. loved the poem, love your creativity, love your heart.

me

Craig - thanks so much for coming by and taking a look at my 100th! - your opinion means so much to me and I am touched by your comment - you are a true class act.

Ines, just a tad late to this party but I wanted to congratulate you on your belated 100th post and getting prepared for your 200th post. What a beautiful way you did this with the poetry and the art. You certainly did put the rest of us to shame. Thank you for sharing a part of you with all of us.

Thank you Gena - and no, I did not put the rest of you to shame......I learn as I go and do like to share (and btw...better late than never!), I"m glad you made it here.

Congrats on the 100th post, it is a milestone.  I love the pictures and I am sure you were a great architect but the freedom you get with owning your own business can't be beat.  I too came from corporate america and understand the demands that it imposes.  Keep up the good work and I wish you the best of luck.

Linda - thanks for reviving this thread!  thanks for your good wishes and by the way....I am still an architect, but now in the capacity of a consultant exclusively for our real estate clients.  That's something I will never give up, it's my passion.

Congratulations on your 100th post.  I wish I would have been so well versed when I wrote my 100th.

However, I guess I am focused too much on the big picture and look only at the overall totals.  I have focused on being number one in my state and have a LOOONG way to go.  Once I get there I may write an inspiring tome, but then again I will probably fixate on the fact that I am now the target to surpass.

It never gets any easier.  I wish you continued success and only the best.

Steven - thanks so much.  My goal is not to be number one in my state - have you looked at Florida?  But it has changed into writing great quality material that informs and educates and to also have some fun - so enjoy the journey....it only gets better.
