Congratulations to Atlanta's Fabulous Fox Theatre!
The Fox has always been a prized venue for Atlanta. The performing arts industry has also recognized it as a leading venue of the world's stage for 2007.
Venues Today magazine has ranked Atlanta's own Fabulous Fox Theatre as the "#1 Venue in the Country for 2007" for venues between 2,001 and 5,000 seats. The Year-End Report is published annually in the publication's December issue. The Fox outpaced the other venues in terms of both dollars and attendance.
Billboard Magazine has ranked The Fox Theatre #2 in North America for venues with 5,000 seats or less. This year-end ranking was published in their Year-End Double issue in December 2007. These ranking are based on total gross revenue.
Pollstar Magazine also announced their Year End Rankings for 2007 in their January 14, 2008 issue. They ranked The Fox Theatre 5th in the World among the world's Top 100 Theatre Venues for 2007. These rankings are based on ticket sales.
Atlanta Landmarks, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1974 to preserve The Fox Theatre. "Since the time that Atlanta saved The Fox back in 1974, the successful restoration and establishment of The Fox as an icon in our city required that it be managed professionally," says Alan Thomas, the President of Atlanta Landmarks. "That means that a strategy was put in place to secure the financial strength that the building would need to survive and thrive."
"What makes The Fox so successful is that it is not only a very successful performing arts venue, it also a successful not-for-profit arts organization," says Allan C. Vella, General Manager of The Fox. "In order to succeed in all of its varied aspects, it requires that the theatre adopt and implement the industry's best practices. The Fox is the only theatre in the country with a full-time Restoration Department. The theatre itself is a National Historic Landmark that is faithfully restored and maintained without the need of annual capital campaigns. The Fox also manages outreach programs for the children of Atlanta."
The Fox is home to over 300 performances a year and proudly hosts two strong Broadway subscriptions series that include Sweeney Todd and The Color Purple in 2008, as well as concerts that range from the recent Smashing Pumpkins concert to the upcoming performance by Dolly Parton, and comedy shows that include upcoming performances by Chris Rock, Bill Cosby and Bill Engvall. The Fox is also the proud host of many family shows, the immensely popular Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival, and the amazing Delta International Series which brings world-class performers to Atlanta 's world-class stage.
"The Fox fully recognizes that its success is due to the continued support of the citizens of Atlanta," says Vella. "That includes the support of our business sponsors Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company and Lexus."

I LOVE the Fox! Seen my first concert there (way back when) and it was a beautiful place. Many years later, and several concerts later it is still just as beautiful! Congrats to you Fox!
Hi, Rhonda! Thanks for reading and commenting! Isn't The Fox just gorgeous? Everyone should have a chance to see something there!
