Having a nine year old out smart you
Since my daughter was young, I've always told her she was adopted from a monkey family that we met at the zoo. The zoo had too many monkeys and that we felt sorry for her and brought her home to live with us. You will see where this story comes into play a little later. I've been to a few blazer games this year with the family, but I will be the first to admit I don't mind looking at the Blazer dancers, they are not hard on the eyes...at all. But, in the past 4 games I've been to, they have been missing in action and in their place have been the 12 year old junior blazer dancers. (NOT THE SAME!) Well last night, the blazers were on national TV and the Blazer dancers showed up, I guess to get their national coverage. Well my daughter leans over and whispers in my ear "There you go daddy older cheerleaders for you to look at." Was I this obvious? I thought it was funny and so did my wife and dad. Well, later that night on the way home, I had to ask why she said it. She said, "I know you like them and was complaining that they haven't been there." I had to defend myself, I said, "Well they are pretty and dad likes looking at pretty girls." That is when she SET ME UP! She said, "Are you saying I'm not pretty?" I said, "Well that's different, you are nine and my daughter." She at that point screamed with delight, "I KNEW IT! I told you I was your daughter! You just admitted it!" I knew I was in trouble, I had been set up! This was her plan from the beginning and I fell for it. I was outsmarted by a nine year old and there was nothing I could do but smile. I wasn't ready for it. I thought maybe when she was sixteen, but not nine! So, to my daughter, sleep lightly, daddy is plotting his revenge.
