Don't believe the media hype. 2007 was a good year in the DC area. The market was stronger than it was in 2006. The MacArthur Group has just released sales figures for the year and they show an increase of 57%. In 2006, the group completed transactions totalling $14,000,000. The final total for transactions completed in 2007 is a whopping $22,000,000. 2008 has shown an increased level of activity and we expect to see another increase. The pent up demand is beginning to move back into the market and it is an early indicator of a busy Spring and Summer.
The media may be reporting that people are leaving the industry, but that may be more of an indicator of the capabilities of those that have left rather than a true picture of the market. If you are considering a purchase or sale of a home, we look forward to the opportunity to speak with you. If you would just like to sample a flavor of our Group, visit our website at www.themacarthurgroup.com . We welcome the chance to let you experience the difference we can make.
We are the MacArthur Group and our clients know we are there - Every Step of the Way!!!

I'm so delighted to read that your market is going well! Ours is still on the increase and I find myself having to tell locals this all the time. They are shocked to learn the TRUTH!
I hope those reading in MD know what a great guy you are!! Mwa!
Good for you John.
I've noticed a slight uptick of phone calls and e-mail inquiries too. I sent out five good referrals today. My goal is two a day. One of these is in the $2Million range. So, I can take off tomorrow, huh???
J-Mac, Congratulations on another record year. You know your stuff. I'd buy a house from you. Worthy of a referral!
John-congratulations on a great year! I hope 2008 is a banner one for you as well.
J Mac, glad to hear that your market is doing well! Keep trumpeting the LOCAL truth to your consumers and they'll get it.
Jennifer - Thank you for your kind words. I believe the success of the group has been rooted in our approach. Every client exists within their own market. Our focus on listening to their needs and developing a plan that fits them personally is not rocket science. My small part in the process is making sure that every member focuses on reality and the opportunities that exist for those that are willing to seize them.
Lenn - I have no doubt you take time off as needed. Yet, like me, you are never far from a ringing phone. The beauty of developing a strong group is much like developing a strong referral base. You always have coverage and the coverage mirrors your work ethic and professional attitudes.
ps - Luis is sweet, golden and active. I will keep you informed.
Andrew - If I might quote Bobby Knight....When someone in your profession stands up and gives you praise, well there is no higher form of flattery. The words you share mean a great deal to me. If you stop and think about it, our peers respect is a very good measure of the value we offer clients.
Cindy - Thank you. It is nice to look back and realize the good that we have done. We are busy already. I believe our efforts will result in yet another good year. You know that our ranks our thinning and our opportunities are increasing.
Lisa - We have continued to share the truth. The nice thing about last year's increase was that our sharing the bounty with those less fortunate increased exponentially. Need I say it.....August 29.2005...Never Forget.....You can make a difference......HELP
Every day that passes that you do not reach out to those less fortunate is one day closer to a life without purpose.
Thank you for your support and good wishes. You and your neighbors remain in our prayers, thoughts and heart.
Some areas are always going to be stronger than others. 2007 was a slower year, but inventory is down and prices appeared poised for an increase. Those that feared a market implosion in our area and were waiting to "steal a house" are very disappointed.
Now this is more like it J-Mac. Pleased to hear things are going so well. Have a truly wonderful 2008 my friend.
