MY SIGN OF THE TIMES

A few years before Patty and I left Galveston Island for Dallas, I sold my company offices in Galveston, in the Island's resort-second home community, and the one in the Museum District of Houston.

I primarily needed a breather from managing people and paying bills, so I became a sole practitioner. I thought you'd like to see the sign that hung under the canope of the four story 19th Century building where I moved my office.

Note the name of the company. I figured that in order to add an employee or agent, I'd have to spend the money to change the name. That was all of the assurance I needed to make sure I thought about it good and hard.

Love the old classy style of the sign! I before becoming a sole Realtor Managed and supervised. I enjoy working this realm with managing "MYSELF". Thanks for sharing photo.

i love it , it has somewhat of an old western charm to it

Bill,

I LOVE your sign! It really does have an old time feel to it, like straight out of an old western....I can just imagine downstairs is the saloon and the dance hall girls.

Bill, that is truly an eye-catcher. Love the thought of going back to the yester years.

I like the line  "with Prudence and Discretion"..I just may steal it!

I hope you kept that sign...

Bill

That is a truly unique and meaningful sign. Very Creative.

I used to collect old signs ..wish I still had them.

Bill - This is a great nostalgic looking sign and very charming! I picture it on a brick building with wood porches and rails to tie down the horses!! I know that sounds kinda rustic...but sounds charming. I hope you have saved this sign when you moved on!

Thanks to each of you -- Trey, Gilbert (Miss Candi), Miss Christina, Miss Jo, Miss Joanie, Miss Shirley and David for your comments.

I brought the sign to Dallas with us.  It is very heavy...probably weighs in at more than 50 lbs.  It sat around in the garage for about a year, and then Patty told me she thought I ought to screw it to one of the exterior walls of our garage so it faces the back yard.

That's where it is today.  I notice that it is going to need to be taken down and restored, but I'll have to find someone who knows how to do it.

Men always made some comment about Prudence and Patience, as if they were girls that worked for me or something.  Next would come, "Do you remember the song 'Tonight You Belong to Me' that was sung by Prudence and Patience," at which time I usually LOST my patience.

Bill, I love that sign.  I think your wife had a great idea.  Why not enjoy it and I'm sure it has lots of memories that go along with it.
