While at the Anza Borrego Desert State Park they were celebrating their 75th year anniversary. The park comprises over 1,000 square miles of San Diego County desert and mountain country since 1932 - 1933. Coyote Canyon is packed with many blooming wildflowers and many more that are in buds. Indian Head Mountain is the large mountain northwest of the Park Headquarters. The park in early March 2008 was packed with photographers like me taking some great pictures of the desert landscape.

The prominent colors of the flowers were yellow and purple with splashes of white. The cacti and succulents looked like they were ready to burst out, but exactly when, no one knows. There is an Anza Borrego Desert Wildflower Hotline phone number at 760-767-4648 to keep San Diego desert enthusiasts updated. I was very impressed with desert and was there at dusk. As the sun set it cast a great glow on the desert.

San Diego desert wildflowers are a spectacular site to behold. This year in San Diego we had a good amount of rain and the San Diego deserts were no exception. My wife and I went out to Anza Borrego Desert State Park on Sunday March 9th 2008. I had heard from some folks that the desert flowers were starting to bloom and since I hadn't been out to Borrego Springs for quite some time I thought it would be a nice afternoon with my wife.
