LONGER DAYS ON MARKET PAYS OFF FOR SELLERS
Buyers have been holding out on purchasing homes as they believe that the prices will come down. Meanwhile, sellers have been resistant to lower their prices and homes have been staying on the market longer. Reports compiled by the Metropolitan Regional Information System comparing February 2007 to February 2008 for Baltimore County, show that any downward trend in pricing seems to be reversing and moving in the favor of the sellers who have been willing to wait to get their price. The average price has increased by 8.50% from $291,338 to $316,108, eventhough the days on market has increased from 79 to 116, or a little over a month. New sellers on the market are following this lead as list prices have increased by 13.02% from $305,558 to $345,389.
