I have a new family moving here from out of the country and they selected a specific school in a specific area and it is my task to locate housing within the district served by this particular school. Not an easy task as I was to come to find out. I cut and pasted test scores all morning to create my own custom school report. I would have thought that this criteria would have preceded the decision but they selected it by reputation without any particular evidence of the school itself or the type ( cost ) of the housing associated with that area. Their high is not enough to secure a home big enough or of the right configuration for this family. I will work on it more tomorrow but your post certainly reminded me of what I have been working on for 2 days already.
William. Our most popular school districts with the highest ranked public schools publish their scores and rankings and make it somewhat easy. Other school area just ignore it, but I can usually find it in the state records, albeit with considerable work.
It's a constant challenge for me because so many families transferring here want "the best schools", but their price range is no where near the areas where the best schools are located. I have identified particular school clusters in most counties around with the highest scores, AP courses, ranking, etc.
It's also a fact that a few counties have good public relations for their public schools. The school dynamics creates a lot of work for me. Top ranked public schools add anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 to the prices of homes, depending on the county.
