Sales for single family homes in the City of Brea almost doubled in March and increased 2 1/2 times from prior
months. March 2008 sales activity proved to be the highest we've seen in the past 7 months.
The City is well known for excellence in education. The schools have been a strong draw for residents in our community. It's often said Brea enjoys some of the bigger city benefits, yet maintains a small town atmosphere. Many of us who live here feel it's the best of both worlds.
Single family sales activity for March 2008, prices range from $365,000 to $2,950,000.
Condominium sales activity for March ~Condos/town-homes range from $269,000.00 to 550,000.
The majority of homes for sale in Brea are priced from the upper $600,000 range to the upper $800,000 range. Currently there are 17 homes for sale in Brea in excess of $1,000.000. In addition there are three new custom homes in excess of $2,900,000.
Brea's current re-sale inventory stands at 7 months. Meaning at the current rate of sales (based on year-end statistics in 2007) it would take 7 months to sell the inventory assuming no others (new listings) were added to the existing supply.

A great report , Lynda. Sales are tending up, the expired and withdrawns, tending down. Who could ask for more as we make our way through this great morass of the media driven decline on people owning their own piece of the American Dream. That same media is trying to sell that dream which they claim is not about just owning your own home but of having a spokesperson using words to incite a new dream, where every window ledge has a freshed baked apple pie wafting through the streets to allure the senses. But for those born yesterday that haven't already fallen off the turnip truck, that media driven new dream has caught on and it makes me feel like I'd rather be driven over by that same turnip truck than smell that artificial apple pie.
Oh, wonderful Lynda! Great news and information for your market.

Hi Jack ~ So good hearing from a home inspector, thanks for the visit.
Wow a response to a comment..I must be gettin the hang of it! I'm new at this..but love the site, kinda miss the OC...what a beautiful picture you got of the mountains there. My inspector there is Bob Parker he is a retired home builder and now covers the LA, OC, Riverside,San Berdu areas, If you get a chance use him...everyone likes his style. I'm not trying to sell you just stating fact..Not sure how to communicate or participate without seeming to solicit. I guess if I step on someones toes I'll hear about it! Oh yeah....and GO ANGELS!!!! Jack
