What are the pro's and con's of the Do not call list?

According to the most recent AARP Bulletin (April 2008) [choke], yes I do get that now...LOL, if you have placed your phone numbers on the "Do No Call List" they stay there unless you personally call and have them delete it from the list.

In the beginning when this list began, you were told that you have to call every 5 years and update your phone number with them to remain on the list, this is no longer the case. According to this information provided by the AARP, telemarketing to cell phones is illegal...REALLY! That's good to hear since, those telemarketer's don't seem to realize they are calling my cell phone...I guess since it's out there on my listing sign's I'm fair game...or am I?

You can sign up to the Do Not Call List by contacting them by phone at 800-382-1222 or go to their website at www.donotcall.gov. I know here in Florida there is a Do not call List, however, not all state's provide this service.

Do you feel that this precludes you from receiving any leads?

Does your state have a "Do not call list"?  Do you know? Have you contacted them to place your number on the list if they have one?  What are the pro's and con's to the "Do not call list?"
