Breaking down Central Oregon- Redmond

Redmond is located 15 miles north of Bend and is considered the geographical heart of Central Oregon. This High Desert Community has approximately 21,109 residents and so very much to offer. Redmond is considered one of the fastest growing industrial and residential communities in the State of Oregon. The weather is absolutely beautiful averaging about 302 sunny days per year. The City of Redmond is also home to the regions only commercial airline service airport, Roberts Field. Redmond also boasts the Deschutes County Fairground & Expo Center. Located on a 132 acre parcel of land, this facility hosts everything from the 10 day county fair (largest in Oregon ) to tournaments, trade shows, concerts and rodeos. There is so much to do here including hiking, swimming, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, water skiing, rock-hounding, spelunking, camping and llama packing. Redmond's world-famous Smith Rock State Park draws rock climbers from all over the world. There are also 24 public and private golf courses closeby, ensuring the Redmond visitor some of the finest golfing available in the Pacific Northwest. There are also many places to visit including the Petersen Rock Gardens, Eagle Crest Resort, and Operation Santa Claus (a working reindeer ranch). Redmond is considered the hub of Central Oregon and will likely continue its unprecedented growth.
