Spring has arrived in the Mother Lode!

Spring is here in the Mother Lode! Wildflowers are blooming in every corner of Tuolumne County with California poppies at the lower elevation and dogwood trees at the higher elevation. The rivers are flowing, the sun is shining and activity is everywhere. What more could you ask for? There are plenty of outdoor activities but if that's not enough to bring you out and about, the Mother Lode has events scheduled nearly every weekend from April thru September. I've included a sampling of what is happening here in April.

April 19

• The Tuolumne County Historical Society will host its 52^nd annual Lamplight Dinner at the Sonora Opera Hall
• The Columbia College Community Chorus will present its Spring Concert at 7:30 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. For info call 209-984-0704
• The Historic Sonora Chamber of Commerce will present "Fat Saturday" benefiting the Grant a Wish Fund

April 20

• The 31st annual Columbia Wine Tasting will be held from 1 to 4 pm in Columbia State Historic Park.
• The Columbia College Community Chorus will present its Spring Concert at 3 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. For info call 209-984-0704

April 26

• The 24^th annual ICES Children's Fair will take place from 10 am to 3 pm at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. Free Admission
• The 13^th annual Sonora Spring Festival with live music, artists and crafters, from 11 am to 4 pm in downtown Sonora. Free Admission

April 27

• The Gold Country Peddler's Faire from 8am to 4pm in Knights Ferry. Free Admission

So take a drive to the Mother Lode, enjoy a beautiful spring day taking in the sights and sounds of the Gold Country. Stay tuned for happenings in May.
