If you were the Maine Association of Realtors, you'd give it away to some fabulous, creative, and deserving Maine residents!
Yesterday, the Maine Association of Realtors announced the launch of the Your Piece of Maine YouTube Contest. The purpose of the contest is for people in Maine to share through the video format why they would like to own a piece of the state where they love to live. It's also an opportunity for people who already own homes here to showcase their piece of Maine for the world to see.
The videos will be judged by a panel of five local celebrities, and the winners will be announced by June 30th. The first prize is $20,000 cash, which can be used for a downpayment, home improvements, decorating... whatever your pleasure! Other prizes include a $5,000 second prize and 8 $1,000 prizes.
I think the contest will be a great way for people to share their stories and why they've chosen Maine to be the backdrop for them. We live in a special place, and I'm looking forward to hearing why each of the contestants aspires to or has already made a piece of it their own.
