Franklin County of Central Ohio - Including Columbus and surrounding communities
It's a great time to buy. With interest rates low, Buyers have the upper hand in the market right now. And with the current inventory of over 9,800 homes, Buyers have many choices to use their incredible buying power.
Good news for Sellers too - Lowering of interest rates has generated an increase in home sales in the Central Ohio area.
The average sale price of a home for February 2008 was 156,497, a decrease of 4.8 percent from the average sale price of $164,397 in February 2007. The average days on market is now at 121.
Greg Hrabcak, President of the Columbs Board of Realtors says "As inventory levels have been roughly thirty percent higher than normal for the last year or so, any leveling off in new listings is a welcome sign for the market as a whole, The fact that the supply has been significantly greater than the demand has resulted in lower sale prices, lengthier sales listing periods and a general concern about housing. But housing, like most economic sectors, is cyclical. This buyer's market won't last forever.
