With nearly all the Ski resorts in North America now closed Summit County has one that stands alone. Arapahoe Basin or as we locals call it A-basin. Just 5 miles south of Keystone Colorado it has become know as the Legend. A-Basin is usually the first resort in the n
ation to open and almost always the last to close with an average season of about 8 months.
With one of the best snow reports in years A-basin has announced plans to stay open until June 8th. Last nights storm brought a fresh 6" of powder to an already strong base of over 60". And the resort is still reporting all terrain and lifts being 100% open.
What makes this resort so fun every spring is The Beach. I know were talking about skiing but think chair lifts meets the sand. As soon as March comes around the beach is home to countless music tastes (some bad, some good, some we wont speak of!), smells of different foods cooking on grills, "different" and original clothing and it is one heck of a good time!
The beach is not only home to parties for friends and family it is also a place for charity events, employee parties, children's birthdays and even demos. June A-basin promises us another great and fun filled spring. Check out whats happening this year.
