Robledo Family Winery in Sonoma, CA

Some friends and I recently went on a wine tasting trip in Sonoma. Our favorite winery was the Robledo Family Winery. The wines were delicious (I even loved the chardonnay and I usually only drink red). We were served by one of the Robledo sons, who told us the story behind the name of each wine as well as the grapes used to make them. There was also a cute little Robledo grandson wandering around and admiring our limo. This is a charming and inviting family winery. Mama Robledo is even the one doing the cooking today for the Cinco de May celebration!

From the family website:
"We think every bottle of wine produced by Robledo Family Winery is a small triumph. The quality of our wine displays viticulturist Reynaldo Robledo's skills of grape culture. He overcame his humble beginnings as an immigrant field worker to become one of the most successful vineyard consultants and winery owners in California Wine Country. More than anything, Robledo Family Winery is a success because Robledo shares his knowledge and passion with his children and his grandchildren."

Their wine club is even family oriented. You can sign up as:

  • Padrinos (Godparents) - One case every three months, Feb, May, Aug & Nov
  • Tios (Uncles/Aunts) - One case every four months, Mar, July & Nov
  • Primos (Cousins) - Six bottles every three months, Feb, May, Aug & Nov.

With the membership, you receive a 30% discount on all wine and a 20% discount on clothing/merchandise. Not a bad deal!

Howdy Chrts

I like wine's, that dose sound really good. I'll take a look at their website and see if they ship all over or not. Thank you for telling us about this fine winery Chris.

Have a good one Dale

Ah, Chris, this place sounds so nice.  We have several beautiful wineries out East that I just love.

Dale - It is a very nice winery, we had a great time.  The wine was the best we tasted during the tour.

Carole - I'm new to the wine tasting, so far I'm liking it!

Sounds yummy!  I wish I lived closer!

Susan - You'd definitely would be on the invitation list!

Yummy wines, love this winery too. Nice! NExt time invite me Kym

I will Kym!  I'm thinking of signing up as a Primos so I'll have to visit there at least 4 x a year.  We had good Mexican food at Maya, too.

Chris, neat ThemThem to the Robledo Family Winery. Sounds like the wine is topped off with great customer service. Thanks for sharing with the Group.

Thank you, Duane!  It really is a nice family business.  My sister owns a transportation company, so I am hoping she'll contact them and add them to her tours on a regular basis.  I think it would be a good match for both.

Cool, maybe we should get a membership, sounds good...I like red too so, which ones should I order??

Of course the $100 2003 Cab was to die for... but the more reasonably priced were delicious too!  : )

Sounds like you all had a great time on your wine tour! The Robledo family sounds very gracious!

It was a lot of fun, and the Robledo family was very sweet.  Thank you for the comment Rich!

This sounds really good. Next time I go out to California I will have to check it out.

Cindy - It was a nice place.  I think you'd like it.
