It's May in Arizona - The Schnepf Farms Peaches Are Here!

Schnepf Farms Logo

I love peaches. Always have. I know I'm not alone in this... there are other peach lovers out there.

The true connoisseurs will do me one better though.

They know when the peaches taste their best.

They tell me that time is right now- and the place is Schenpf Farms.

In 2006, Schnepf Farms was declared an “Arizona Treasure” by Governor Napolitano and the Office of Tourism; they're the first attraction in the East Valley to receive this designation.

Wait a minute... a 67 year old family farm is an attraction? How can that be?

Here are a few of the events and attractions they’ve sponsored over the past years:

  • Annual Pumpkin & Chili Party (attracting over 150,000 people).

  • On premises Train Rides, Museum, Gift Shop, and Country Store.

  • The year round education of over 30,000 school children per year.

  • “Farmer of the Day” and “Grandma’s Baking Classes” programs.

  • They grow fresh organic produce using 100% renewable energy (becoming the first farm in the country to do so.)

Finally- Schnepf Farms is the state’s largest peach grower. Each May they allow people to pick their own- and thousands take them up on the offer. Will I be seeing you there?

Schnepf Farms is located at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road, Queen Creek, Arizona.

Man, I'm drooling at the thought of fresh peach cobbler with real vanilla ice cream!  YUMMMY STUFF!

Hi Chuck,
I'm with Kent, the thoughts of fresh peaches is enough to ge the saliva flowing.  We won't get fresh peaches here until July or July.  Enjoy!

We are big peach fans too, but have to wait until July or August for the local ones from the western slope.  Enjoy!

Chuck, I'm very familiar with Geogia peaches but was not aware of yours. I'll look for them. Thanks.

Kent- Now you've got me going... but I guess I deserve it- bringing this up and all. :-)

Cynthia- Yes... we're lucky to hit the season early. It feels like an early summer to me.

Steve S.- I've had them... so delicious... worth the wait.

Steve H.- I have to admit- I don't know if we give the Georgia peaches a whole lot of competition. I'm fortunate- I can enjoy peaches even when they're not at their peak of taste. After we have our fill of the Arizona peaches it's time for the Utah peaches to make their way down here.

Been to Arizona twice!  Makes me want to visit again!  We have to wait until much later in the summer to get peaches here :(

Jennifer- Well... maybe it's time to visit Arizona a third time! :-)
