Thursday, I heard that Papa John was selling pizza for 23 cents. Say what? Gas is $3.79 and I can get two pizzas for 46 cents. Let's go. I tried to call, no answer, not even a ring. OK, I'll go on line, and we'll order two for dinner. How hard can it be? That did not seem to work either. Ok ,we'll drive down there and just wait while they cook it. We can sit in the car while we wait.
I knew things were wrong when I saw the people in line. Not just one line there were two lines. Talking to the kids in front, they said you order now and come back 3 hours later to pick it up. OH MY GOODNESS! My husband said do you want pizza that bad? Well not really, but it 23 cents. We're making history. It's the hunt, the thrill, the adventure.
OK, we'll order and come back and pick it up. How hard can that be.
We stood in line 45 minutes, before we got to the counter. We went home and came back 3 hours later expecting to get in line and just pick it up. That was the line from @%&!. We waited in line for 3 hours before finally getting our pizza.
The one day special collected more than $17,500 with all proceeds going to the LeBron James Family Foundation.
The Papa John promotion was an apology to the cav's fans for a Washington DC store that mocked LeBron James as a "crybaby," during the first round of the NBA playoffs
Sorry LeBron, I don't want any more pizza for a while.

Funny, isn't it? I'd rather pay full price for a pizza that wait in that kind of line from H-E-double hockeysticks. Quite a few people I know were in those lines too, and were triumphantly flaunting their (cold) 23 cent pizzas like badges of honor. My husband and I tried calling the one by our house, then looked at each other and decided our time was worth a lot more than 23 cents to us.
Our 16 year old had friends in line and went down, so he had fun with it, and finally got two pizzas. Dominos was selling $1 pizzas out of the back of a van at one time so people could eat pizza while they waited for their pizzas - LOL!
My opinion? Best Pizza is at Guiseppe's Deluxe Pizza on Caston Rd. in Green - that's where we got ours - Yum!!
