White Doves and Real Estate in North Georgia

Isn't it funny how you can work or live right next to someone and really not know as much as you think you know about that person?

William Vernay Jr. known as  Bill Vernay of Mountain Investments of North Georgia is a dedicated Realtor with thirty plus years of real estate experience in residential, commercial and investing.  He spent a lot of time in Florida real estate and then like many of us, decided to make the Blue Ridge Mountains his home.  So, all of this I knew but what I didn't know is...

Bill raises and trains white doves !  He and his wife Marge (Broker of Mountain Investments of North Georgia
706-946-7111) are starting a new business in Blue Ridge called:

 Aska White Peace Doves

for releases to celebrate weddings or provide a memorial for a lost loved one.  There are many other occasions that one might want to have a white dove release to make the occasion joyous, inspiring and uplifting such as:

  • Homecomings
  • Graduations
  • Peace Vigils
  • Baby Showers
  • Birthdays
  • Grand Openings
  • New Beginnings
  • Church Events
  • Valentine's Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Virtually any celebration that one wants to make memorable and inspirational

It's a beautiful idea!  Consider what white doves at a wedding symbolize:  new beginnings, peace, love, serenity and the Holy Spirit.  For example,  a dove lifts off representing the hopes and dreams of a new life together, soon joined by other doves released by family members.  The doves flock together and circle overhead representing the union of families with greater strength and support for a new life together.  The flock of snow white doves get their bearings and head off for home together symbolizing loyalty, fidelity and love.  Food and flowers will fade from memory, but guests will experience a moment they will not soon forget.

What about the loss of a loved one?  A white dove release for a funeral is one of the most loving and memorable ways to honor the memory of a loved one.  At the end of the graveside service, family members release the white doves from a beautifully decorated basket.  The flock of snow white doves ascend to the sky and circles the area awaiting the spirit of the loved one to join them.  Moments later, a single white dove representing your loved ones spirit is then released by a family member.  The spirit dove joins the flock of "angels" and all together make the spiritual flight home.  Isn't this simply beautiful !

I can't even imagine how much time, love, patience and care this must take for Bill to train these white doves so they will be able to navigate home from different locations and distances.  Imagine the hours of care and training that is involved.  This serves as a testimony to how much Bill and Marge care about people to make special moments in other's lives as memorable and special as can be.  You will find this sort of care carries over into their real estate professional life as well.

Hi Donna, that is so nice. And the doves fly home every time? That is amazing

Keith & Robin:  They do fly home every time!  It an amazing story and anyone interested in this service should get Bill to explain how it's done.  Really cool !

Bill & Marge:  You are so welcome and I really enjoyed creating this post.  I think what you are doing is so cool !  My best to you.

Donna, That is so lovely!  I can't imagine the time and patience it must take to care for those doves. They are beautiful, I saw them at a wedding many years ago.

Hello Donna,
What  an interesting and unusal business.  I've seen  doves released at weddings and it a beautiful site and the symbolism is wonderful.  Thanks.

Carole:  This is a new idea for our area and I hope it will really catch on.  I think it is a beautiful way to celebrate special moments.

Cynthia:  It is unusual for our area but I agree with you, very interesting.  I am just amazed at how the doves return home.  What a wonderful way to use these beautiful birds.

Barbara:  That  really would be awesome!  I am sure Aska Dove Releases is going to be in great demand.

Donna, you are so sweet to highlight Bill's activities in the white dove area. I always wondered how you find people who do that, and thought cities maybe rounded them up or something. Very cool info. What you learn about people when you dig a little deeper.

Gary:  I enjoy your posts so much and I appreciate you stopping by for a visit.  I thought this was one of the most interesting things I've learned about another person in a while.  I think it's awesome how these beautiful birds know how to get back home.  I get lost pulling out of my driveway sometimes.

Donna - Now if more people would just live and let live we would need millions of "Peace Doves" to celebrate

Kathy:  That is a lovely thought.  I can't wait to have a reason to use Bill's Peace Doves.  It will be the highlight of any celebration.

So glad you introduced AR to your colleques.  I hope they benefit from the introducation as much as we have.

My ? - Do you think it's a challenge to get people on board AR and, if so, why?

Tracy:  It does seem to be a bit of a challenge and I'm not sure why.  I think most people feel they just don't have the time and blogging is still very new to many agents in my area.  Thank you for your comment and the question.
