This is my very first posting so please be kind. This is an arrangement I put together for the 2006 Solano County Fair Horticulture Dept. It's titled "California Delight".
I belong to a floral arranging group called Shibui Arrangers Guild. We meet in Benicia, CA for monthly meetings. We have members coming from Solano, Napa, and Contra Costa counties. We share artistic ideas on gardening, arranging techniques, flowers, and have a good time.
If there's anyone out there that enjoys flowers too, please let me know. I'd love to hear fom you.

Linda that is BEAUTIFUL. I'm from New England and recently attended the Boston Flower Show and saw arrangements like this there. Was a wonderful treat to see all the color in March. I'm looking forward to picking out my seeds for flowers this summer!! Thanks for sharing. You truly are talented!!
Linda...the arrangement is beautiful....fresh flowers in a home always show that special attention...I have attended the Philadelphia flower show ...an amazing experience.
Sue- Thank you for your kind words. You were my first response, and I ran around the office so excited grinning from ear to ear to have gotten get a response so quickly. Enjoy your garden this year!!

Hi Linda--I'm glad I could make your first post a memorable one!! I do enjoy my garden. Here's a photo of a few of the daylillys I've grown. I like gardening and photography!! You enjoy your garden too!!
Sue - Wow! That's a gorgeous plant! I'm hoping to get a few lilies planted this year. Right now I have more roses than anything else, but I'm trying to branch out. I am so happy, I feel like I found a new friend!
You did find a new friend Linda!! Me too!! Your lucky you caught me--I hadn't blogged in awhile and have set myself a goal to put up one new blog a week. I picked today to be my blog day. I'm glad I did!! :)
I like my lilly's too! They are pretty easy to grow up here and when the flowers pass the greenery is still nice. Lots of color varieties too which I like.
Happy Blogging and if I can help with anything, you got a friend in New Hampshire!!
Linda Welcome !!!- nature is the best gift available....look at the texture and details.
Here is what is popping up in my yard, and the shade of purple is lovely!
That's one georgeous Iris Michelle. Linda's got one colorful post going on!! Hope to see more!!
Michele - Thanks for sharing your Iris. I think I'm really going to enjoy this blogging thing. What a fun way to interact with people who have common interests. I have a number of Irises too. They are so beautiful.
Sue - I'm glad you were here today too. I think this could get addictive..........
Do me a favor when you have a minute and let me know which Day Lilies are some of your favorites, so I can keep them in mind when I go shopping. All I know is I want something in yellow.

Brad--what kind of flower is that? Is it a cactus? Beautiful!!
Linda--I'm not big on names of flowers. Really just go by what I like. I did look up a couple for you and a two that are pretty and yellow are Stella d'Oro and Bonanza.
Happy gardening to all!!
Hi Sue, I wish I could tell you, It sure caught my eye when walking by it. Fortunately, I had my camera and was able to capture it on film. Sorry, like you, I am not big on names, I just enjoy their beauty. I don't like to put links in comments, but I know Linda will not mind me sharing with you these other flower photos I have taken over the years. Thanks Sue and thank you Linda for a GREAT FIRST POST! My flower Photos!
Let me know what you think Linda and if this is ok, If not, I will remove the link in this comment.
If Linda likes flowers as much as I think she does, I don't think she will mind the link at all. You've got a keen eye for photography Brad. I loved the one of the little gecko on the palm leaf...green on green shot was amazing!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Sue, I hope she won't mind, I'll call her later (she's on caravan tour this am.), and make sure. Thank you for your compliment, that really does mean a lot to me. It's always my pleasure to share, and I am glad you enjoyed them.
(The gecko was shot at Haiku Gardens by Haleiwa Joes on Oahu, Hawaii.)
Brad - Thank you for joining in. Your photographs are great! Haiku Gardens must be a fabulous place to visit. I especially enjoyed the white flowers after the Geckos. They are so delicate. I don't know what they are, but I sure do like them. Kinda like the first photo you sent. It's awesome. Maybe somebody out there can help us figure it out.........
Sue - Thanks for the tips on the yellow Lilies. I'll keep those on my list as I shop around. Glad you enjoyed Brad's photos, he is very talented with a camera. He has taken a lot of photos of our area that are quite interesting as well. Not to mention his great sense of humor. I will enjoy that 'Bud' for quite some time....Thanks Brad!
Always a pleasure Linda. Thanks for your kind words. Have a Happy Easter!
