Boonsboro Maryland - Washington County

Nestled at the foot of South Mountain in Washington County lies the town of Boonsboro, Maryland. Initially named Boonesborough, Boonsboro was named after two brothers, George and William Boone, who once owned the land where the town now sits. Boonsboro is located near the Frederick County boundary and near the Antietam Battlefield northeast of Sharpsburg. Today, Boonsboro is a quiet community catching the over-flow growth of Frederick County, as commuters to the Baltimore-DC Metropolitan Area move westward in search of homes with a rural setting.

Many people travel to Boonsboro for the fine dining at the Old South Mountain Inn, the great at music at Stingers Sports Pub & Grill, and the wonderful ice cream at Potomac Street Creamery.
