Rockbridge was first settled in 1871.There is still a mill site at Rockbridge Game and Trout Ranch, but the attraction isn't having grain ground any more. It's a chance to compete with trout at the old mill dam site. Plus an excellent dining room and some accomodations to spend time at the trout resort in Douglas County.
A beautiful winding drive down N Highway that seems to go on and on, then suddenly drop into a magic spot where there is an old bank building and post office still standing from the old days in Rockbridge. Today you can enjoy a cool one in the old mill building on the deck while observing the trout and those folks fishing.
The trout are raised up in the hatchery right there and they are more than cooperative with people who use fly fishing to regenerate for a few hours or days before going back to cubicles in the city with only visions of the sweet, deep valley at Rock Bridge on Bryant Creek.
