I woke up this morning to one of my favorite radio stations, KKSF 103.7 FM saying, "by the way did you know it's National Wildflower Week?" I immediately had to get online, and find out what the heck this was all about. Since I'm into gardening, I was very pleased to find out more and wanted to share it with you.
National Wildflower Week was founded in 1987 by Charles Spencer. It runs from May 7th through May 13th, which of course is Mother's Day. In looking this up, I found much more of interest....The Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas was founded by Lady Bird Johnson and Helen Hayes in 1982. It has since grown into one of North America's leading environmental institutions. They have Gardens on Tour, educational classes and so much more. I can't wait to visit. So for all you flower people out there check out their site. You might be pleasantly surprised. I certainly was.
So now that National Wildflower Week ends on Mother's Day it's only fitting to say "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!" to all you mothers out there. LOL I hope everyone is ready, or preparing to be extra nice to your favorite mom. I say that because it's always nice to honor anyone who plays that important motherly role in either your life, or even someone elses. Enjoy the flowers everyone, and don't forget to take time to stop and smell the roses....................

CONGRATS on your "Featured Post" on Localism.com You should be proud, great job!!
By the way, we love KKSF, very calming station to enjoy after a hard days work :-)
Thanks Brad. I don't know how this happened, but I'm tickled to see it! I need to thank you once again for getting me started on AR. I think you have created a monster! Glad to hear you enjoy a little jazz once in awhile too. See you soon.
You deserve all the credit Linda, I am glad you see the future value of this network. I can't wait to start seeing and hearing some of your success stories that will come from AR and your blogging. Your "Featured" localism post is an AWESOME start. Speaking of that, can you do a post regarding the Benicia Market? It would be posted on Localism and I feel you are so much more qualified to share that with others than I am. Maybe a stats, or market update or something? Let others around the nation know why Benicia is the "Place To Buy and Live"! ;-)
By the way, the roses smelled (or is it smelt) beautiful all week long!! Thanks for another great post!!
What a great idea Brad! Thank you, I'd love to put that together. I think Benicia deserves to get the word out how wonderful of a community it really is. So let's do it!!
P.S. My daughter got me a beautiful boquet of roses for Mother's Day. It was a great day for us all. We celebrated by surrounding my mom with all of her local offspring, and spoiling her the best we could.
Okay Brad, check out the Benicia Farmers Market post, what do you think? I got it together.

Hi Lisa and Robert - Thanks for adding me as one of your associates. I'm so glad I found your group. I think it will be a lot of fun to share ideas and such. I'm happy you found my post too. :-)
