Condo living room - Staging Success UAG 7 days after Staging

We are so fortunate to be doing what we love! We help homeowners and Realtors achieve success in the sale of their property. We are the soft voice of moderation as we help a homeowner let go of their collections and decor. Many times misunderstandings may arise when an agent asks the homeowner to "pack up their stuff!" The agent is not mocking the homeowner or their taste. The agent is being pragmatic in helping the homeowner prepare their property for sale. As a Stager, my job is to create a property that has universal appeal, while at the same time honoring the homeowner.

The Staging of this property was very simple. Several steps were required in this staging. The agent was aware that the property would have to be cleaned and decluttered. The homeowner did all the cleaning and as much decluttering as they understood needed to be done. Some beautiful items remained on display. The homeowner was very proud of the pieces and thought Buyers would like to see them. At this point in the listing process, the agent asked us to come talk with the homeowner and Stage the property.

We met with the homeowner on a Sunday afternoon. The homeowner showed us their property. By listening and appreciating the beautiful pieces and heirlooms, the homeowner was able to "let go." We Staged the property Sunday evening.

This lovely home needed furniture placement, props, and solutions for the homeowner's lifestyle.

A brokers open house was held the following Wednesday. One of the agents had a potential Buyer. The property was shown to the Buyer Wednesday evening. An offer was presented Thursday evening. Friday and Saturday the Offer was negotiated further. Saturday evening the property was under agreement.

I had to double check to see if the couches were the same in the "after" picture- what a difference!

Excellent job and a good testimonial.

Great job Margaret. Isn't it amazing the difference that staging can make in our perception of a room?

I love the colors, the home went from something regular to something elegant!  What wonderful work.

Nicely done - what an interesting ceiling.

Margaret - Awesome job.  What a great example of what staging can do.  You might want to add this post to the group Staging "Before" & "After" Pictures!

Margaret,

Great transformation!  The After is so much more inviting than the Before.....and your tactfulness no doubt made it much easier for the seller to accept these changes.

Hi everyone - thank you all for stopping by!  Sorry I have not had a chance to respond to your comments - I have been renovating my bathrooms and it has been hectic!

Laurie - Thank you for your comment!  Rearranging furniture makes all the difference sometimes.  Furniture movers - don't leave home without it!

Lynette:  Thank you for stopping by!  The homeowners and Realtor were wonderful to work with and have actually shared my name with other members of their community.

Trish:  I really appreciate your comment!  It is wonderful to do this, isn't it?

Carole:  The family practiced feng shui to an extent - however, they referred to it as something else - I wish I could remember!  They were very aware of compass directions, too.

Kathleen L. - It is called sand swirl.  Skip trowel was used in the closets.  Then there is "smooth".  Smooth is an art form (as my plasterer tells me - and it really is!)  It takes longer and then it needs to be painted.  Skip and sand don't need to be painted initially.

Kathy N - Thank you Kathy!  I will post them - thanks for the suggestion!

Maureen - Thank you for taking the time to stop by.  The homeowners were wonderful.  Like most, they just needed a little hand holding and understanding during a difficult time.

Margaret - I know this is an old post, but I just saw it (localism Framingham, I think?)  The staging you've done brings an entirely different look to this room.  What a testimony as to how you were able to help the homeowner let go of 'staging' her things and instead stage her home.
