Embarcadero is part of the Ocotillo Community Association which encompasses 1,900 acres in south Chandler and not only includes single family residential but commerical, employment, office, and multi-family units. The Ocotillo Community Association which includes Embarcadero is the largest user of reclaimed water in the southwest creating 167 acres of lakes and over 17 miles of shoreline. It takes a full time staff of personnel to maintain the lakes and systems that provide this resort like setting in the Ocotillo C
ommunity.
Amenities close to Embarcadero include the Ocotillo Golf Resort, Tumbleweed Park, Hamilton Aquatic Facility, Veterans Oasis Park, and my wife tells me there is a great mall not to far away called Chandler Fashion Center.
TW Lewis Community with basements and large lots
The single level TW Lewis homes in Embarcadero range in size from 3,400 to over 5,000 sq.ft. and many have basements. Over 95% have pools. Yep, it is summer time, temperatures are hovering around 100-113 degrees. The faint at heart are fleeing the Sonoran Desert cities and looking for cooler temperatures in the high country - or heading back East and even to the northern costal areas.
It is true it does get hot when living in Arizona, however you learn how to adapt and adjust, just as you do in any city in the United States during the summer months. You are in your air conditioned house, car, office, etc., nothing unusual about that. Granted you don't park your lawn chair in the center of the sidewalk while sipping a cup of coffee during the months of June-August, however with a little shade and a cool drink, you will do just fine.
With Arizona having over 110 lakes this couldn't be a better time to pack your cooler with sandwiches and cold drinks and head towards the lake. As you travel the winding roads to the Lake as shown in the photo
inset, you will notice the stark contrast of cactus, desert and water. I have been a resident of Arizona for over 16 years and have lived in Chandler, Mesa and Scottsdale. Each city has its great points; I enjoy all of the splendor they offer and have adapted to the heat. I have learned that even a street lamp can yield shade and a few degrees of coolness when standing behind it. So it is hot, and unless you live in a country where it is cold year round, you have learned to adjust to the summer months regardless of where you call home during June, July and August.
If you are looking to make Arizona your home state, particularly the Phoenix metro area, give me a call, I would love to show you how wonderful it is to live in the desert.

Social Media Viruses and Scams: I am fairly new to the social media arena, and have been using it to communicate what is happening in the Real Estate market.
I belong to Face Book, Active Rain, and I am trying to Tweet, etc. Yesterday I received an email that a malicious virus was going to activate within 48 hrs of my picture being tagged by one of my Face Book friends. Of course my friend knew nothing of this, she was just giving me accolades for supporting her in her business and she in mine. The name of the program is Fan Page. Of course I panicked, and starting looking frantically for a patch. I looked on Microsoft, and pulled up anything I could find about the virus. I could find nothing.
This morning I called "My Computer Works", a remote repair service that I have been with for several years who monitors my computer remotely to keep me safe and up to date. They checked my computer, and to my relief, it was OK. Now this is what they told me, and you may want to take heed. Hackers prey on panic, they put out messages lto get people to down load malware. In other words, you panic, find their patch and download the actual virus. Sometimes you will get a pop up that may say, you have a virus, click on this link to get rid of it, to keep your computer safe. When you click on it BAM! YOU GOT IT! Therefore, be informed that in Social Media Viruses and Scams exist.
Be aware that sometimes we are our worst enemy, I know I am. Thank GOD for Computer Works. By the way if you want to receive this awesome service, they are nationwide, go to www.mycomputerworks.com; its under $30 a month, and is well worth it.
Tell them Cynthia Smitherman sent you, I may get a month free, but you will get 12 months of awesome service.
I am always looking for ways to help my clients and friends; it goes beyond Real Estate. Hope you find this information helpful, and if you are looking to buy or sell real estate, remember me, your friend who cares about your well being and am proud to show it!
