Spent the past couple of days getting set up here in Show Low. JDE White Mountains is now official. Met the people at the Chamber of Commerce this morning and have sent out some marketing bits and pieces. Everyone's been really nice up here "on the mountain". I hope that will translate into some good relationships.
If anyone in the White Mountains is reading this, I'd love to say "hi". I'm offering free flyer designs for agents in the Show Low area. If you check our our site www.JDEWM.com, you'll see that these aren't the usual flyers. We can arrange for discounted printing too if you'd like.
Just a reminder, we are a small busines web design and marketing company. We do graphic design as well as business cards, flyers, brochures, posters and even vehicle decals.
I'm back and forth between the White Mountains and Scottsdale but am able to work in either location.

I stepped out onto my patio and saw the moon tonight and thought I'd give it a shot...

The number of agents are definitely changing. I heard the other day that our Board is losing about 30 agent s month on average right now. There are always a few new ones coming one too, but the numbers are dropping. In our area that is okay, those numbers needed to go down. In the boom times everyone and their sister, brother, uncle, aunt, & cousin, got their real estate license so they could make some fast money. Add to that we had a ton of agents jump on our board from the Phoenix & Tucson markets so they could bring their clients up here and sell them homes. Never mind that they didn't know the area, the market, or anything about the area, they just wanted to keep us from selling their folks, it was pure greed. So, even though our numbers are going down, we are not at all unhappy to see that happen.
Of course Buyers are pretty scarce too and who can blame them. They are watching their retirement funds dwindle and they are all scared. All we can do is hope that the new President can do what he claims and help turn things around. I am not an Obama fan but I don't think much of the last years of the Bush Whitehouse either so I'll give the man a chance. Maybe he can help turn it around, I hope so for all of our sakes.

Everytime I change office I find I have accumulated more "stuff". I swear that those papers sit in the drawers and multiply. I spent two days sorting and throwing and I still had at least ten boxes full of "stuff" when we finally moved out of our former, now closed, office. I am still not settled in my new location - have to buy more 'stuff".
I love having to order new signs, new cards, new nametags, new stationary, new new new ..... money money money ..... just in time for the end of the year slump and the Holidays.
Add to that the fact that my "new" laptop that I purchased in early October hasn't worked right from the first day, and will soon be on it's second trip to the Dell Repair Depot. So in the meantime I am working out of my house. That is fun too - between my Hubby, the Dog, my 90 year old Mother who lives with us, and lack of space, it has been one fun week. My little area around my desk looks like a disaster area because I don't have anyplace to put anything so it ends up in little piles all over the floor. Everytime I need something I'm down on my hands and knees digging through my little piles trying to find that file I need or that piece of paper I wrote something on.
Transferring listings is fun too. First you have to convince the clients to move with you. I lost one because they didn't believe me when I told them my office was closing. I lost two more because they decided to take their homes off the market for the winter, but, I'm not complaining most came with us and I picked up three more this week. (More little piles of papers)
Then today, we got to make the 100 mile circuit to change out signs. Then we get to do it again next weekend to put the sign riders on the signs that we just put up. I also have about $400 worth of signs that will make a good bonfire one of these days since the company who's name is on them no longer exists.
Oh yes, moving is such fun, I can't wait to do it again!
