About Payson's Payson North

Payson North subdivision, in Payson AZ is a popular area, both for well priced homes for sale, and for rental homes. Payson North was the original "nice" area in Payson. There are still a few single-wide mobiles, manufactured homes, some with add-ons, and there are also site-built houses. Most of the properties in Payson North are well-maintained, even if older.

The streets are somewhat narrow, and often have ditches beside them, and lots tend to be on the small side. Sometimes a property includes two lots. The street are, in some places, almost a maze. There are several streets which start and stop and pick up a few blocks later, and ther are many similar names (no, not THAT section, go 3 blocks over and take the NEXT section).

Originally homes in the area were required to have something "Swiss" in appearance. This resulted in many "Chalet" style homes, or homes with the scalloped edging around the roof as in the picture above. Payson North has lots of trees; pines, junipers, oaks. Many of the properties have landscaping that includes flowering shrubs (blooming now) or flowering bulbs, or fall foliage. Payson North is beautiful in the Fall or Spring.

Home values in Payson North tend to be somewhat lower than in the newer subdivisions, and since there are some nice site-built home sin the neighborhoods it is a place to look for bargains. The subdivision is not standardized, and the homes do not look the same, but if the mixture of homes doesn't bother a buyer there are some very nice places for good prices.
