Well, it means that even though the heat is subsiding and cooler air awaits us when we step out of our front doors in the morning- it also brings red itchy eyes, runny noses and lots of sneezing! If you are lucky enough that blowing dust and grass don't bother you- rejoice! The rest of us will not be having much fun for the next few weeks of scalping and planting!

Ok, how many of you have been driving down Goldwater in Scottsdale recently and have seen a pig standing on the side of the road holding a sign?

Yes! I said a pig holding a sign! This is BACON! A restaurant just North of Indian School Road on Goldwater Blvd.

My mom and I have been seeing this pig for over a year and finally decided to stop in and see what the "Oink" is all about.

We had breakfast. She had eggs over easy with, BACON, of course! It also came with sourdough toast and home fries.

I ordered an egg white omelet, mind you I have ALWAYS hated egg white omelets but am currently trying to lose some weight so decided to give it try. It had spinach and tomatoes. It normally comes with Feta but I had them hold the Feta.

It was delicious! The BEST omelet, egg white or regular, that I have ever had and the BACON was just the way I like it, crisp and delicious!

So, the next time you are driving around Arcadia or Old Town Scottsdale and you feel a little hungry or if you happen to see a rather tall Pink Pig standing along the road - Stop in and grab a bite! You won't regret it!

Have you heard of Arcadia Pride? Chances are, if you live in the Arcadia area, you have at least heard of the Arcadia Pride- Run for Pride 5 K run.

Arcadia Pride is a non-profit organization that has been raising money for area schools for the past 18 years to support educationally enriching projects!

They have raised, through the help of the community, approximately $910,000 to date. Their goal is to reach $1 million in support by 2010!

They have funded projects for Hopi, ANLC (Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center), Tavan, Ingleside, and Arcadia High School. This money has purchased everything from computers to fitness equipment.
